Teeth

Around Thanksgiving time, one of my fillings randomly came out of my tooth...along with a small corner of one of my molars. At first it didn't bother me, but then my wisdom teeth began to grow in on that side and then the pain started. Normally I just ignore it, but it's getting out of control. I don't have dental insurance anymore and I'm fairly certain that this isn't going to be cheap.

Anyone know a dentist that would do some pro bono work on my mouth?

And it sounds like boner work, but I mean FREE. Har har.

Did I mention my neighbor gave me a Vicodin?

you haven't had your wisdom teeth taken out yet???

"...along with a small corner of one of my molars" You are crazy- i would have been calling a dentist in a panic immediately. I'm amazed that it wasn't hurting sooner...the root or whatever is inside the tooth is probably exposed!

Even though it's gonna be really expensive without insurance, it might be better in the long run. That way you won't have to go to the shitty dentist that your health insurance restricts you to- you can pick out a really good dentist who has all the latest technology and shit. they'll probably do a better job anyway. I used to go to an old dentist that was covered under my mom's insurance, and after that expired I went to NuSmile in Seminole and they have all these new tools and xray things and they found 3 cavities with the "vertical xrays" that my old dentist missed....one of them was so bad inside because it had gone unseen for so long that they almost had to do a root canal. So they fixed 'em up, good as new with tooth-colored filling. then just last week I had to go get a checkup at a different dentist (now with insurance) and they SUCKED. The co-pay was only $5, but the dentist also sucked and didn't even check my back teeth.

for design freelancers there is some type of "temporary insurance" plan you can get if you freelance or if you're between jobs and know you're going to be getting better insurance at a new job in a few months... they might have something like that for salon stylists? it's shitty insurance, but at least you can get some type of health or dental insurance for a couple months.

fuck, i totally rambled..

p.s. NuSmile can work out a payment plan with you if you don't have insurance
